Neighborhood Watch

Picture
Neighborhood Watch groups are some of the most effective crime-fighting tools in the community.  This program helps unite neighbors in fighting the social isolation that helps fuel opportunities for burglars, vandals, and other criminals.  The program also helps educate residents on the best ways to secure their property and report suspicious activity.  The most important things needed for Neighborhood Watch are a few concerned residents and a supportive police department.

The Wilmington Coalition for a Healthy Community is ready to assist residents who want to start a Neighborhood Watch Program in their subdivision or area.  Please contact the WCHC office at 815-476-1660  for more information.  The Coalition is working with both the Wilmington Police Department and the Will County Sheriff’s Office.

Neighborhood Watch Mission

Our mission, under the guidance of Wilmington Coalition for a Healthier Community, is a simple one. We wish to improve the quality of life in the neighborhoods of Wilmington through a balance of citizens effort, Wilmington police department effort and public participation.  Through our monthly meetings we can exchange ideas, gather information and plan actions to this end.
