The Wilmington Coalition for a Healthy Community is certified by the State of Illinois to offer Beverage Alcohol Servers and Sellers Education Training (BASSET). We provide training and education for the restaurant and bar service industry, convenience store industry, and all other industries that serve and/or sell alcohol, including grocery stores. The training is designed to help our local businesses operate safely, legally, and responsibly, help protect themselves from civil liability, and reduce death and injury linked to alcohol consumption.
Bartenders, servers, and clerks who attend BASSET Training will learn about state laws and local ordinances pertaining to alcohol sales and serving, how alcohol affects the health and behavior of customers, how to check ID’s to see if they are legal, and how to respond to intoxicated customers and other difficult situations. For more information about the BASSET program, please visit the Illinois Liquor Control Commission website To find out about the next BASSET class in Wilmington, call the WCHC office at 815-476-1660. |
